Michael Kelly present the beautifully unique Forte Port: an electro-acoustic steel-string guitar with two unusually-placed sound holes and a specially-developed top bracing pattern for sublime sound with rich resonance for expressive playing styles. To amplify the sound the way it deserves to be amplified, Michael Kelly have opted for a Sonicore piezo pickup and a matching Presys preamp with built-in tuner from the renowned Fishman. Since this is the Forte Port X version, the top, back and sides are all made of distinctively alluring quilted maple.

Une fois les cordes changées (oxydées), le sillet de manche recreusé (le mi aigüe sonnait comme un sitar), celui du chevalet sérieusement limé, et le manche réglé (presque 6 mm pour l’action sur le mi grave), je peux profiter d’une excellente guitare, à un prix défiant toute concurrence … bravo Bax Music, mais une petite étoile en moins pour les gens chargés du contrôle qualité !

De gitaar heeft een zeer goede afwerking, de top van de gitaar de achterkant en zijkanten zijn heel mooi esdoorn hout! De klank is mooi uitgebalanceerd, de projectie is goed, mede door het extra klankgat in de bovenkant van de gitaar. De elektronica en piëzo element is van Fishman, degelijke kwaliteit die de toch al mooie klank van de gitaar ten goede komt. De hals heeft een smal en fijn profiel, waardoor de gitaarhals eerder aanvoelt als een elektrische dan een akoestische gitaar. Frets zijn goed afgewerkt. Voor de prijs een aanrader voor iedereen die een kwalitatief goede gitaar zoekt voor relatief weinig geld.
Tip: door de opslag in het magazijn kan het noodzakelijk zijn de snaren te vervangen (enkele waren gecorrodeerd), maak dan direct de toets van de gitaarhals schoon (deze gaf nog een beetje zwart vuil af).
Heb de gitaar nu enkele weken in bezit en speelt heerlijk, pak hem vaak op dus dat is altijd een goed teken.
